Library Chandelier

I love napkins with designs on them. Makes me not want to use them though. I think they look better on the wall than on the table next to the food.

Anthropologie catalogs are quite lovely, yet difficult to get a hold of in my experience. I fill out that order form again and again only to get one measly catalog sent to me per year. Maybe they know I don't buy anything. Oh well.

Ah, Victorian decor and libraries. Something I enjoy in pictures, but not in my apartment, not any more, at least. I am someone that tends to get tumbled in with history and old stuff, so I have to stay clear of the antiques and gilded chandeliers for awhile as I am in grandma-taste recovery. As of late, I am looking into a more futuristic setting for my lifestyle. But still, I find some comfort in looking at pictures of old houses and furniture. Reminds me of my Nana.

Starry Tent

I'd like to know how Katie did this exactly. It's so magical. How is that gauzy chiffon-like drapery hanging like that? I have made many tent efforts in my time and nothing has looked that much like a real tent. This, this is a masterpiece. And those cut out stars! and the rope lights! I will find a way to do this very soon.

Art Nouveau in We're Back

Art nouveau. My interest in it actually began with the LOTR Trilogy, particularly Arwen's room and Rivendell in general, but the pics online of it aren't very clear. Will post later on that, but for the present, I think these shots from We're Back give a nice example of the style that I like a lot.

Trees and Musings

Isn't this a lovely day?
Yes, and it consists of eating macarons from Laduree (mind you, all of this is in my ardent imagination)
Looking at and reading Tim Walker picture books
Snuggling indoors from the cold with a warm set of slippers
Growing a massive tree in the middle of my living room? No, that was a nap.

Green Tea/Red Hair

Gorgeous, gorgeous hair! The glossiness is so rich!
What wonderful nail glitter!

Castles and Christmas Trees

I bought a white artificial Christmas tree a few years ago and I love it so much I usually leave it up way beyond Christmas season. I break down sometime in March or April with the reason being, that it won't be as special for next Christmas if I leave it up so long. But this year, I'm re-thinking this scenario. Why not leave a Christmas tree up all year? I love the lamps and other decoration in my home all year long and don't get sick of them. Christmas lights and trees are very cozy to me. Hmmm... I'll keep thinking about this.

Disney's Castles look very similar to Christmas trees. Maybe I could build a miniature castle out of cardboard to place around the tree this year.

Another interesting visual clue into the private life of others through their dresser. Picture from The Selby.

The Glossy Black Apartment

Cindy Gallop's apartment in NYC. Said about the design that she wanted to feel like she was in a Shanghai Club at night. I think they accomplished just that.
So elegant and sexy. Amazing decor.
